Encouraging, empowering, and elevating the lives of African Little People in dire need of medical support & care.

Across Africa, Little People struggle with hardships most of the world will never know. Too often, they are left unseen and unheard in their own communities.

A child who needs a diagnosis to prevent continued and furthering issues related to their short stature has no informed doctors to call on. Teens who need corrective surgery may wait years – or more likely, never receive it. Adults struggle to access jobs and basic healthcare. Families are left alone, without information or support, carrying burdens that no one should carry in silence.

The Little People of Africa Foundation exists to confront this plight head-on.

The Short Statured Society of Kenya

For the past six years, The Short Statured Society of Kenya has proudly hosted annual meet-ups in Nairobi – gatherings that celebrate resilience, unity, and visibility. What began as a small initiative has grown into a powerful tradition, offering a safe space where individuals of short stature and their families can come together for encouragement, joy, and mutual support. These events provide not only much-needed social connection, but also platforms for media coverage that assist in raising public awareness of demeaning stereotypes across Kenya and beyond.

Founder of Little People of Africa Foundation, a community leader and advocate for people with dwarfism.

More than just a meeting.

Each annual event has become a vibrant festival of possibility! We offer:

  • Equal-opportunity sporting events & competitions

  • Motivational sessions

  • Community building

  • Social opportunities

  • Unforgettable camaraderie

These gatherings bring much hope and optimism to a community that is often isolated and alone. It helps remind participants – and the world – that size does not limit spirit, potential, or unity.

With every meet-up, The Short Statured Society of Kenya continues to inspire, uplift, and strengthen a movement for empowerment, dignity and inclusion across Africa.

Building on this success, the Little People of Africa Foundation was born —

expanding the vision beyond community events to life-changing medical impact. While the past Kenyan gatherings have provided vital social and emotional support, our greater mission is to bring experienced medical doctors from the United States to perform specialized surgeries for Little People in need across Africa. At the same time, we are committed to training local doctors in Kenya and neighboring countries, ensuring that medical expertise grows within the region.

What began as a celebration of unity in Nairobi has now become a continental movement to deliver dignity, health, and opportunity to Little People across Africa.
